Dhruv Rathee was born on 8 October 1994 in Rohtak, Haryana, India. He belongs to the middle class Jatt family. His father was an engineer nd his mother was a teacher. During his childhood, he loved watching cartoon videos very much on television. Also, he is good at studies from his schooling days.
His maternal grandfather worked in bsf who frequently gets posted in numerous places. This is the reason Dhurv would get a chance to travel to various places when he come to meet his maternal grandfather.
After completing his schooling in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, India. After 12th, he gave an entrance examination test for various colleges such as Manipal University, iit, jee. But, he didn’t get admission because he didn’t secure a good rank in the examination.
After some years, Dhruv parent’s shifted from Rohtak to Delhi. The reason was for better job opportunities for his father. In 2003, his father was offered a better job with a salary in Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia. Due to this, his father alone shifted to Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia and the rest of the family stayed in Delhi only.
For higher college education, he went abroad and did a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering degree. Later, he did his college studies for a master’s degree in renewable energy from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
From starting, he had an interest in political science, political philosophy, history and economics. So, he also did his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science. Later, he dropped with Economics and political science. Then, he chooses YouTube as a full-time carrier.
In 2011, he was inspired by “India against corruption” by social activists. But, he was unable to watch the protest due to board examination preparation. After 2012-13, he gained interest in politics. As he was interested in video making and photography from childhood. Later, he created his YouTube channel “Dhruv Rathee” on 8 January 2013.
In 2014, when Narendra Modi became the prime minister of India. Then, he thought that narendra modi would take steps to reduce corruption. But, the situation doesn’t become good and becomes worst according to him.
As he was interested in politics and wanted to spread awareness in society. So, he finds social media the best option to spread the right information across the world. He was also frustrated by paid media which spread fake and biased information.
For this reason, he created his first political video and uploaded it on 16 September 2016 on his YouTube channel. He uploaded the video exposing bjp it cell. His political ideology in the video gained a response.
For trolling fake media news, he created video series by starting T News. He was greatly inspired by ndtv journalist ravish kumar. As his political videos were liked by the audience. He gained subscribers on his YouTube channel. Till August 2017, he crossed 100K subscribers. This made him turn YouTube into his full-time career.
As his YouTube channel was growing. Apart from political videos, he started uploading videos which were informative and awareness videos. Some of the video titles were “How to Fight Overpopulation in India”, “How to save rivers”, “7 Tips to get you jobs” etc. Later, he also created the dhurv rathee show for talking about the news that mainstream media don’t talk about.
With time, he collaborated with experts and take interviews with politicians. In videos, he started explaining politics as well as informative videos. For this, he used to do research for his video from authentic sources.
Dhruv Rathee made his first appearance on national tv on November 10, 2018. In this show, he was seen with his favourite journalist ravish kumar in Ndtv prime time. With time, he was gaining good subscribers on his YouTube channel.
