Divine is an Indian rapper who is popularly known for his rapping. His real name is Vivian Wilson Fernandes. From childhood, he was not interested or dreamt of becoming hip hop artist. So, here you will know the life story of Divine.
Divine was born in 2 October, 1990 in Andheri East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He belonged from a very poor family. His father used to be alcohol addict. So, his mother went to doha, qatar to do job. Later, he grew up living in maternal grandmother house in jb nagar, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
After completing his schooling from St. John the Evangelist High School, Marol, Andheri, Mumbai. He used to do his studies seriously. He did his college studies from R.D. National College, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Divine started gaining interest at rap due to the tragedy. In 2004, He seed hip hop artist 50 cent photo in friends t shirt. From here, he become interested in knowing the artist. His friend gived Cd’ s for listening to various artists rap songs. After listening songs, he related his life with the rappers. This inspired him to make his career in rapping.
He started writing raps from himself. He used to do religious raps by which his stage name “divine” was made. He would also do rapping on related to poor living of people’s in Mumbai slum areas. He worked as a stage filler when a artist would take break. Later, he joined hip hop crew “Mumbai finest” in 2011.
Divine started rap battle against the rappers. In 2013, he started his own YouTube channel by uploading song “Voice of the streets- divine”. The song didn’t reached to much audience due to its english lyrics. Then, he released Hindi lyrics song “Yeh mera Bombay” which was filmed in slum area of mumbai. This song becomed popular which made him recognised as a rap artist.
Due to this, Sony Music India signed contract with divine. In 2015, he made song with naezy “Mere Gully Mein” which made him more famous. Many bollywood celebrities shared this song on social media. Then, he released many songs such as “Jungle Raja”, “Mitra da swag”, “City slums”, “Teesri Manzil”, “Junoon” and many more etc.
